Learn About Wylie, Texas

The city of Wylie, Texas is located in Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall counties. According to the census conducted in 2010, there are about 41,427 people living in Wylie. This city features several recreational facilities and hosts family-friendly community events all year round. Two popular sites that are found in Wylie are Lavon Lake and Lake Ray Hubbard. Lavon Lake covers approximately 21,400 acres and it’s where people can go camping, fishing, and swimming. Lake Ray Hubbard is where most people prefer to take their boats for a spin and ski during the winter. Lake Hubbard is one of the largest lakes in north Texas.

Before Wylie became the city that it is today, it used to be a small town called Nickelville. It was called as such because of a nickel store that was located there. During the “Golden Age” of railroading, Nickelville’s prospects began to light up. The railroad brought about an economic shift to the town, which made Nickelville quite prosperous. Nickelville was eventually renamed to Wylie on June 10, 1886, and was incorporated along the railroad right-of-way in November 1887. The city was named after Col. W.D Wylie who was a Civil War veteran as well as an agent and engineer in the right-of-way railroad.

This is way overdue. Theyve maintained my pool and done repairs for many years. I`ve always found them to be honest. Kevin owns the company and he knows pools! My technician does a great job and the office staff is real nice. I will have them replaster my pool this year because I know I can trust them.

They replaced my pool equipment when it was damaged by the hail storm 2 years ago. They were out quickly and had my pool up and running within a little over a week. They are professional, on time, and call ahead so I can corral the dog and unlock the gate. If they don't have an answer they call the manufacturer and get the necessary information to complete the job.

Kevin was very helpful fixing our pool and cleaning it after the March and April storms. Fixed all of the broken equipment and turned the pool very clear form the dark green that it turned while waiting for the insurance check. I would highly recommend this company for any pool needs.

Ever since hiring Sterling Pool Service, our pool has been sooooo clean! Never once have I gone outside and seen any yellow algae, like we did frequently with other pool companies. Anytime I had a question they were very prompt about answering it, and being as detailed as possible. I would recommend Sterling Pools to anyone that is in their service area!

We ended up making four trips to clean Mike's pool in efforts to get rid of black algae. He purchased and installed new cartridges in his filter. Then we were able to install the chemical treatment for killing the black algae and make his water clean and blue again.

Kevin, our owner, went out to Tony's house. He found the filter pressure to be almost 30 PSI over what the normal starting pressure should be. Then, he instpecited the push/pull valve and all was OK there. Next, he checked the Jandy valves and found two that were leaking. He needed to perform a filter clean to find out what parts went bad inside the filter. Then, he replaced three grids that were torn. In the valves, he had to replace the O-Rings because they had worn out. After performing these repairs, there were no more leaks. The spa held water and the pressure was back to normal.

The owner went to inspect the issues involving the pool valve and the pool sweep that same day. He found the computer motherboard needed to be replaced, along with the Polaris pool sweep cleaner booster pump. Tony approved both items the same day and we replaced them. His weekly pool service started a few days later. He is a very happy customer of ours now.

The owner of Sterling Pool Service, who is a licensed pool electrician, went to his house and inspected both his pool and spa lights. It turned out the GFI was in good shape but the light fixture for the pool needed to be replaced. Because his lights were color changing, our owner had to replace the existing fixture with a Jandy color-changing LED light fixture. The new light fixture worked properly and Greg's night-time pool parties are now back in full swing.
