While it is important to regularly clean your swimming pool on a daily basis to remove any dirt or debris that may be in the water, it is equally important to periodically drain it as well so that closer inspection and maintenance can be performed on the entire facility. This can be done by completely draining the swimming pool and having technicians check every inch of its surface for cracks, stains, and other defects. This is also a great opportunity to check on your pool equipment such as its filters, pumps, valves, and pipes in order to make sure that there aren’t any leaks or broken parts that may need cleaning or replacement.

While it is technically possible to do this yourself, it is strongly advised to enlist the help of professional pool service technicians like Sterling Pool Service instead. Firstly, this is to ensure that you are following the local codes and regulations regarding pool drainage, and secondly, keep in mind that this can be a long and tedious task that may require more than one person working at once. There are also safety risks to draining and cleaning a pool by yourself, as surfaces can be slippery due to chemical build ups or mold growth. So always remember to seek the help of professionals!

Swimming Pool Re-Plastering and Re-tiling

Other than just performing a thorough check up on your swimming pool, it is also important to completely drain it if you will not be using it for a long time, such as during the winter months or if you will not be at the premises for a while. This prevents the buildup of sediments and the growth of bacteria or mold, and a pool is also much easier to refill and prep for use if it is already clean to start with.

Another very good reason to drain your pool would be if you are planning to re-tile, re-grout, or re-plaster it, possibly because it has become dirty or discolored over time, or because you simply want to give your swimming pool a new look. While the pool is dry, it may also be a good opportunity to install additional features such as lights or new filters.

Whichever the case may be, Sterling Pool Service can handle the job for you.

Learn About Allen, TX

Formerly the home of the Caddo, Comanche Native American tribes, Allen, Texas was settled by immigrants in the 1840s. It was then later formally established by the Houston and Central Texas Railroad, and in 1872, was finally named “Allen” after the state politician and railroad promoter Ebenezer Allen. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow and flourish in earnest as it became a main stop in the train line between the cities of Denison and Dallas. This phenomenon repeated itself in the 50s, the decade when the town was officially incorporated, thanks to the development of Route 75, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, as well as those of its neighboring cities of Plano and Dallas.

These days, the city of Allen is a mostly suburban location. However, it also has a bustling commercial center that is full of lodging, shopping, and dining options, ranging from rustic to luxury establishments. There are also a good number of parks and schools, as well as recreational, cultural, and athletic facilities.

He called because the discharge side of the pump plumbing has a leak. There are two areas: where the pvc attaches to the pump discharge and 5” above that at the elbow where a screw is. Also asked if we do filter cleans. Sterling Pool's owner made it to this guys house and needed to repair the plumbing leaks in order to stop them. He evaluated the gentleman's filter and found it was not in need of a filter clean at this time.

She called saying they can't keep chlorine levels up in the pool. Thinks it may be a chlorinator problem? Our Technician went out to investigate. Found it was due to a dirty, dirty filter. He performed a filter clean and replaced the top manifold in the filter. This solved their chlorine problem.

He called because his heater wont turn on. We went out to evaluate and found that he needs a new On-Off switch installed then an evaluation of the heaters performance. As well, the Polaris is worn out and there are stones that needs to be sealed. The customer was grateful for our time and expertise.

Mr. called saying that when he was tightening his chlorinator lid he did so too tight and cut the threads at the "T-Bar", where it connects to the PVC piping. We replaced the o-ring on the chlorinator base and secured the assembly. In addition, the customer asked about his booster pump leaking. There, we had to install a new seal, o-ring and impellor on the pool sweep pump to fix the leak.

We first met this couple in 2006 while working for their home warranty. They have not had the warranty for years but still contact us for their pool equipment issues. This time they called because the pump stopped working. We did repairs and got their system running.
