Swimming Pool Cleaning and Renovations in Allen, TX

While it is important to clean your swimming pool on a daily basis to remove dirt or debris in the water, it is equally important to periodically drain the pool, so that closer inspection and maintenance can be performed on the entire pool. This can be done by completely draining the swimming pool and having technicians check every inch of its surface for cracks, stains, and other defects. This is a great opportunity to check on your pool equipment such as pool filters, pumps, valves, and pipes in order to make sure that there aren’t any leaks or broken parts that may need cleaning or replacement.

It is strongly advised to enlist the help of professional pool service technicians like Sterling Pool Service instead. Firstly, this ensures that you are following the local codes and regulations regarding pool drainage, and secondly, keep in mind that this can be a long and tedious task that may require more than one person. There are also safety risks to draining and cleaning a pool on your own, as surfaces can be slippery due to chemical build-up or mold growth. So always remember to seek the help of a professional pool cleaning company!

Swimming Pool Plastering and Tiling

Other than just performing a thorough check up on your swimming pool, it is also important to completely drain it if you will not be using it for a long time, such as during the winter months or if you will not be at the premises for a while. This prevents the buildup of sediments and the growth of bacteria or mold, and a pool is also much easier to refill and prep for use if it is already clean to start with.

Another very good reason to drain your pool would be if you are planning to re-tile, re-grout, or re-plaster it, possibly because it has become dirty or discolored over time, or because you simply want to give your swimming pool a new look. While the pool is dry, it may also be a good opportunity to install additional features such as lights or new filters.

Whatever the case may be, Sterling Pool Service can handle the job for you.

Learn About Allen, TX

Formerly the home of the Caddo, Comanche Native American tribes, Allen, Texas was settled by immigrants in the 1840s. It was later formally established by the Houston and Central Texas Railroad, and in 1872, was finally named “Allen” after the state politician and railroad promoter Ebenezer Allen. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow and flourish in earnest as it became the main stop in the train line between the cities of Denison and Dallas. This phenomenon repeated itself in the 50s, the decade when the town was officially incorporated, thanks to the development of Route 75, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, as well as those of its neighboring cities of Plano and Dallas.

These days, the city of Allen is a mostly suburban location. However, it also has a bustling commercial center that is full of lodging, shopping, and dining options, ranging from rustic to luxury establishments. There are also a good number of parks and schools, as well as recreational, cultural, and athletic facilities.

Our owner went to his home for assessment, he agreed it does look bad. He told Eric there are four things that need to be done to stop the water loss and it will be professionally done: 1) Replace expansion joint between coping and deck. 2) Seal two skimmer throats. 3) Reseal three stones on spa waterfall. 4) Add one small stone on ledge below spa waterfall to stop run-off onto the deck. Eric gave us the approval and we got the work done. The following week he called back to say water hasn't been added since we finished the work and his wife loves how good it all looks. Note: removing and replacing the deck-O-seal is typically done during a pool renovation, not by itself.

Our owner went to his house to see about the leak he noticed. The source of the leak is at the pool pump motor, internal gaskets/seals had failed. We removed the old motor and replaced with a new one. As expected this stopped the leak.

The owner of the company went to her house to see why her heater controller showed the message "water sensor shorted." Luckily, the message she was getting was accurate and the issue was readily solved by replacing the water temperature sensor for the computer. Once that repair was made, everything was back to normal.

Our owner already was in her area when I called to give him the message about the spa that drained unexpectedly. He went by and noticed the same thing when he turned on the spa. After inspecting the equipment for any leaks or damage, he found the spa valve was turned incorrectly. He turned the valve back to where it needed to be and the spa began to hold water again.

The owner went to his house and diagnosed the computer to be out of date and irreparable. He had to have a new Hayward saltwater chlorination system with control box, salt cell, flow switch, and necessary supplies installed. Since then, everything is reading properly and he is enjoying the pool.
