Learn About Wylie, Texas

The city of Wylie, Texas is located in Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall counties. According to the census conducted in 2010, there are about 41,427 people living in Wylie. This city features several recreational facilities and hosts family-friendly community events all year round. Two popular sites that are found in Wylie are Lavon Lake and Lake Ray Hubbard. Lavon Lake covers approximately 21,400 acres and it’s where people can go camping, fishing, and swimming. Lake Ray Hubbard is where most people prefer to take their boats for a spin and ski during the winter. Lake Hubbard is one of the largest lakes in north Texas.

Before Wylie became the city that it is today, it used to be a small town called Nickelville. It was called as such because of a nickel store that was located there. During the “Golden Age” of railroading, Nickelville’s prospects began to light up. The railroad brought about an economic shift to the town, which made Nickelville quite prosperous. Nickelville was eventually renamed to Wylie on June 10, 1886, and was incorporated along the railroad right-of-way in November 1887. The city was named after Col. W.D Wylie who was a Civil War veteran as well as an agent and engineer in the right-of-way railroad.

This lady called saying her booster pump is making a noise like it’s about to cycle then makes this high pitch screaming noise so I shut it off manually. Our owner checked this problem out and had to install a 3/4 uniseal motor, install a seal plate and related plumbing to stop the noise at her booster pump. She is very pleased now and will use us again for repairs when needed.

He's been a customer of ours for several years. He called us after noticing the digital pool pump clock isn't working right. Our owner went out to check on the problem and found it in pretty bad shape. We had to remove and replace the pool pump timer/freeze-guard mechanism to get it all to work right again.
