Just in case you didn't know, the new State of Texas Licensing Requirement means "All swimming pool repair companies that perform any type of electrical work are required to have a Residential Appliance Installation Contractor license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation."

The deadline for this licensing was March 1, 2010. Replacement of timers, heaters, motors, lights, blowers, etc (any electrical work) requires that the repairman, pool cleaner or home warranty contractor be licensed. Unlicensed companies may not be insured, leaving the homeowner at risk.
